Natural, Earthy…and Stunning

This project was part of a bathroom and kitchen design for a new build home in the Leith area. In their kitchen, the homeowner was looking for a natural, earthy feel with warm tones and mid-century touches. 

To achieve this mix of retro and modern, we incorporated warm grey painted cabinets and a light natural “Cashew” stain colour from Aya, as well as custom framed arches above the kitchen peninsula and beside the fireplace. Oil-rubbed bronze cabinet hardware and faucet complete the look.

The Cherry on Top: A Mini Integrated Butler’s Pantry

The most standout feature of this kitchen has to be the mini butler’s pantry that keeps small countertop appliances out of sight for a cleaner, sleeker look. 

When you look straight into the kitchen from outside the peninsula, you don’t see a single appliance—just the gorgeous cabinetry. Even the refrigerator is out of sight in the pantry area, along with the toaster, coffee maker, and microwave. All of these appliances are tucked into a small 4-foot area on the other side of a wall at the end of the peninsula, where a countertop and cabinets are designed to keep the mess out of sight. 

The result is a chic, modern kitchen that’s not only functional, but beautiful.
